Dress code

Creative Movement and Pre-dance students should be in a light pink leotard, with light pink tights & pink leather ballet slippers.                    
 
Pre-ballet and tap classes should be dressed in a light pink leotard with light pink tights - White tyette  or mary jane style tap shoes AND pink leather ballet slippers.  
 
Ballet & Lyrical (ages 6-8) should be in a light pink tights and a solid
black leotard with light pink tights. pink leather ballet slippers.
 
Jazz & Tap (ages 6-8) Dancers should be in a solid black leotard with tan tights. Tan jazz shoes and Tan tap shoes.
 
Jazz & Hip Hop (ages 6-8) Dancers should be in a solid black leotard with tan tights and tan jazz shoes.
 
Ballet & Tap (ages 6-8) Dancers should be in a solid black leotard with pink tights. Pink leather ballet shoes & tan mary jane style (buckle style) tap. 


All Ballet Classes (ages 9 and up) should be dressed in a solid black leotard, pink tights and pink ballet shoes. Split-sole ballet shoes are recommended. Ballet skirts are allowed at the discretion of the instructor.   
 
A solid black leotard and tan tights are required for Lyrical;Tap; Jazz and Contemporary Classes (ages 9yrs and up). Ballet skirts or dance shorts may be worn only at the instructors discretion. Dance pants and warm - ups may be worn only during the first few minutes of class.   Tan Jazz Shoes for all classes. Tan Mary Jane style taps (ages 9-12 yrs). Tan Jazz Taps for all Teens/adult.
 
Video Dance & Urban Hip Hop students may wear dance pants or shorts during class over a black leotard & tan tights. Black hip hop sneakers.   (ages 9 years and up)
 
All boys may wear a solid pair of sweatpants and a solid colored T-shirt to class.  
 
To assure safety, dancers should not be dressed in baggy, oversized cloths. This makes it difficult for the instructor to see body placement which can result in injury.  
 
DDA IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR PERSONAL ITEMS LOST, STOLEN, OR DAMAGED. DO NOT LEAVE PERSONAL ITEMS UNATTENDED.

WHY IS THE DRESS CODE IMPORTANT ?
A class dress code teaches students disapline; helps with overall focus and allows your Instructor to see the dancers alignment and positioning. Dress Codes minimize distractions and also creates unity amoung the dancers.
